Walt Disney was a lover of railroads, and trains featured prominently in many of his movies, including live-action films. Ward Kimball, one of Disney's top animators, owned a narrow gauge steam locomotive and a short piece of track, kept in his backyard! When a small depot was built for one of the live-action movies, Disney gave it to Kimball after the production ended and it became the Grizzly Flats depot on Kimball's 1/4 mile-long Grizzly Flats Railroad. Several kits of the famous depot had been produced over the years, but I wanted to create my own take on the iconic structure, as well as experiment with printed digital textures. Layering printed textures with colored paper, wood, and plastic details created a very realistic looking model.
