From 2013 to 2020, I volunteered with and served on the board of the Kansas Preservation Alliance (KPA), the statewide historic preservation organization, and held the position of Awards Committee Chair for the duration of my term. The annual Kansas Preservation Awards recognize preservation projects across the state of Kansas, including everything from barns to the Kansas Statehouse. As the committee chair, I organized and hosted the awards program each year from 2016 to 2019, including soliciting nominations, organizing the awards selection committee, and MC'ing the presentation ceremony and a reception following. From 2018 to 2020, I served as KPA's president, taking my turn and doing my part to keep the all-volunteer organization running smoothly.
